Are you facing a storm in your life?

I recently went to the lake for an evening meeting. The forecast called for rain, and as I left my home it had already started to sprinkle. As I pulled out of the garage it was raining a little harder and as I parked at the harbor, it started to downpour with wind and hail.

I sat in my car for several minutes hoping the hail wasn’t damaging my car and surprised at how long it was lasting. Should I head home? Or should I ride out the storm and wait for it to pass? I chose the latter and waited for the storm to pass. It seemed to take forever when in reality it was less than 10 minutes.

I got out of the car still wet from the walk to my car when it was sprinkling. Now at the harbor, I had to walk quite a distance and was trying to maneuver through the puddles of water when I looked up and saw a full rainbow! I’ve never seen a full rainbow before and I just stared at it in awe. My focus completely changed from concern about car damage to this magnificent art of nature I was witnessing.

Moving forward, I invite you to look for your rainbow by:

Being gentle with yourself while going through your personal storm.

Looking for the gratitude in your storm. It may be like looking for the needle in the haystack, but gratitude is there for those willing to look.

Mostly, my wish is for you to know you deserve the rainbow ends. Do what you can from where you are to prepare for it and celebrate it as a reminder you made it through your own personal storm.

Until next time, go play in the puddles of life.

Affirmation:

Even during a storm, I know a rainbow is close by.
