I am on it!
I choose to stand for LOVE.
I choose to stand for kindness.
I choose to stand for compassion.
I choose to stand for peace.
I choose to stand for justice.
I choose to focus on solutions while not ignoring problems.
I choose to be an ally for marginalized communities and continue to learn how I can do it better.
I choose to help people see that they matter in the world as I believe those who feel seen and heard are far less likely to harm themselves or others.
I choose to be gentle with myself when I mess up.
I choose to see the beauty in the world, knowing that ugliness exists too.
My choices aren’t always easy to make; I slip up from time to time, I regroup, and I return to focusing on who I want to be and how I want to show up.
I choose me.
Moving forward, I invite you to be choosy by:
Knowing your values. When you know your values, it’s easier to make choices that reflect those values.
Asking yourself who do you want to be in each moment. You get to choose, yes, even in the not-so-fun moments, on who you want to show up as. Do you want to show up as someone offering or seeking solutions, or someone who is ready to blame, shame, and complain about the current situation?
Determining the importance of choice. Will the decision you are making right now have long-term ramifications on your life? Sometimes we make choices in haste without accounting for the trajectory the choice will take us in the future. It isn’t a right or wrong answer; it’s just asking yourself the shelf life of the decision.
Trusting your gut. It takes practice, but the more you listen – really listen – to your inner knowing, you’ll make the right choices for right now. Yes – even the hard choices your gut will have you make.
Mostly, I invite you to take some deep breaths and let LOVE guide your choices. Fear wants to lead. Fear wants you to be angry, to feel defeated, and unworthy. LOVE will help you see the next step, and the next step, and the next step after that.
Until next time, I will continue to choose LOVE. Will you join me?
Affirmations:
I choose to show up led by LOVE, kindness, compassion, and peace.
