Did you know 9 out of 10 dentists recommend a certain toothpaste? Or how about 3 out of 4 surveyed like________ (fill in the blank)? It’s interesting how we rely on odds for many facets of our lives, from buying toothpaste to health and LOVE. And we want the odds in our favor. But if you look at all aspects of your life positively, the odds will begin to turn in your favor as you bring more positive energy to every situation, yes, even the tough ones. Play the odds. Bet on a sure thing. The deck is stacked against us. There are so many more that I can think of regarding how we interact with odds in life and get fearful if they aren’t in our favor. I invite you to look at odds through the eyes of professional baseball players. They get paid handsomely, and even the great ones aren’t hitting 50% of the time. A great hitter bats over .300, yet they don’t appear worried that they are hitting just over 30% of the time.
Lessen your grip on the odds, and swing for the fences.
Moving forward, I invite you to see that the odds can be in your favor by believing and being grateful for the journey.
Looking for a new job yet concerned about the odds? If your current job situation is tenuous, or perhaps you are currently unemployed, guess what – there are companies out there that are thriving. People are getting hired every day and/or promoted every day. Be one of those people and bring positivity to your career path.
Looking for a new relationship or enhancing the one you are in yet concerned about the odds? Regardless of age, weight, economics, or location, LOVE is waiting for you, and LOVING yourself first will help. And if you are in a relationship and worried about it lasting as the divorce rate is 50%, be the person who sees marriages as 50% successes and brings positivity to your relationship.
Looking to feel good yet dealing with a health scare? Have you been diagnosed with a serious illness and wondering about your odds of recovery? Regardless if the number is 90%, 50%, or 20%, those percentages represent those who recover. One year it might be 20% recovery, and then next, it’s up to 35% — be one of those who bring the odds up. Bring positivity and compassion to your health.
Mostly, my wish is for you to realize what you are looking for in life is looking for you too. I invite you to live your life like a baseball player and feel like the superstar you are, even if the ‘odds’ appear to be 30%. Get up there and take your best swing at an amazing life; I am sure it will be a grand slam if you put your heart into it. Until next time, defy the odds.
Affirmation:
I give my life the very best, and I get back the best in return.
