I declare

What are you declaring about your life right now? Are you declaring LOVE or fear? I’ve shared this before, but three years ago, I declared that I only worked with heart-centered people, whether it be my coaching clients or business consulting clients. As a reminder, heart-centered doesn’t mean perfect, but they operate more from their heart far than they operate from their hurt. When I made that declaration, I had no idea how big of an impact it would have on my life. It became clearer who in my life operated from LOVE and who operated from fear. There was also a gray area as many people straddle the line of LOVE and fear… somewhere in the middle. In one moment, they do something LOVING, and in the next moment, they are acting from fear. When it’s gray matter, I use how I feel when I am working with them. Do I feel invigorated, or do I feel deflated when I work with them? Neither is right or wrong; it is about who I want to spend MY time with.

Another big part of the equation was ME fully committing to operate from my heart rather than my hurt as my hurt shows up too.

It’s pretty easy to make a declaration on how you will operate your business or personal life, for that matter. The work begins when you show up for yourself to LIVE what you’ve declared. Like most things, it’s a practice, and the more you practice, the more it becomes a habit.

Now, when you declare LOVE, be prepared for fear to yell ‘WHAT ABOUT ME??!!

The yelling fear is easy to detect; it’s when fear whispers that it can go undetected and quietly slip into your heart. The more you are gentle and kind with yourself for missteps, the less likely you will repeat them. Let fear visit as it is sharing something within you asking to be LOVED; don’t invite fear to move in.

For the next week, Coach Carol invites you to create a personal declaration or mission statement for your life by:

Getting clear on what the essentials are in your personal and professional life. I often talk about ideal experiences as that is where I focus a lot of my coaching, but this isn’t about ideals… it is about essentials. These are the deal-breakers. Once you have a list of essentials, you can begin to formulate your declaration. I’m creating a workshop around the essentials to take a deeper dive, so stay tuned.

Using the statement, ‘I AM______” and finishing it with what you are allowing into your life. You can use another opening as well; make sure it is positive and kind. EX: I am grateful I work with heart-centered people; instead of working with people who aren’t fear-based.

Remembering that once you make the declaration and let it anchor in your heart, you will begin to see evidence of that declaration in good ways and in ways that you have to decide if you are willing to LIVE that declaration. Please keep in mind; it doesn’t make the other person bad; it just means they don’t fit into your declaration.

Knowing that your declaration is going to evolve, grow and change with time. It’s not written in stone; it’s written in your heart to use as a guide for how you move through life.

Making sure that your declaration or mission statement is created from your heart and not your hurt. It may have become necessary from hurt, but you want it to feel empowering and inclusive rather than vengeful and exclusive.

Mostly, my wish for you is to see your worth, feel your worth, and declare it. There is only one you in the world, so make sure you treat yourself as the precious, unique person you are.

Until next time, I declare that you are worthy of living a happy, healthy, and meaningful life. Now it’s time for YOU to declare it!

***Please note that you may have personal or professional relationships that don’t fit your essentials when you figure out your essentials. This process isn’t about walking out on where you are; it’s about looking at where you are, LOVING where you are, and allowing in more of what fills your LOVE tank rather than siphons it away.

Affirmation:

I am guided by LOVE in all situations in my life.
