Embracing the Final Quarter of 2024

Happy October! Can you believe we are already in the final quarter of the year? Time seems to fly. Like many others, this year has been a whirlwind of emotions—happiness, sadness, excitement, concern, and everything in between. It is a powerful reminder that whatever we focus on, whether our desires or difficulties, we give energy to grow. It’s also important to remember that feeling fear, frustration, or doubt isn’t wrong. It’s human. What truly matters is how much energy we choose to give those emotions. Acknowledge what you’re feeling, then gradually move towards feeling better, step by step.

As we move into these final months, I encourage you to reflect on what you want to experience. What do you want to accomplish, and how do you want to feel about yourself by year’s end? A lot can happen in three months. It can be helpful to break this time down into bite-sized moments if three months feels overwhelming. Consider: What can you do today to bring more gentleness and joy into your life? What can you do this morning? Take a moment to notice where most of your thoughts and energy are going. Are you focused on things that bring you wonder or worry? Creating a life you love means showing up with intention and recognizing that some days, your best might be at 40%, while others, you’re in full LOVING life mode.

Moving forward, I invite you to:

Review your year so far. Reflect on where you began, where you are now, and where you’d like to be. This isn’t about self-criticism if things haven’t gone as planned. It’s about taking stock and deciding if adjustments are needed. Give yourself the space to check in and recalibrate.

Identify what you want for the rest of the year. After reflecting on your progress, consider what you still want to experience. Is there a hobby you’ve always wanted to try? Perhaps you’ve longed to travel, read more, start exercising, or reconnect with a loved one. Make space for your desires and consider how they can bring joy and fulfillment.

Decide how you want to show up. I want to be a helper, not a hurter. When I feel frustrated or disappointed, I notice how easy it is to react from a place of hurt. That’s why I pay attention and remind myself of the person I want to be. This might not be your desire, but I invite you to consider how you want to show up. What actions align with the version of yourself you want to embody?

Practice self-compassion. As you strive to live with purpose, remember that grace starts within. Be kind to yourself when things don’t go as planned. We’re all a work in progress, and moving forward doesn’t mean perfection—it means growth. The more compassion you extend to yourself, the more ease you’ll find in your journey.

As we close out the year, remember that these last three months offer a beautiful opportunity to realign with your dreams and desires, reflect on your growth, and choose the path that lights you up. Embrace this season with excitement, purpose, and, above all, gentleness.

Until next time, let’s love ourselves and others up the rest of the year.

Affirmation

I show up as the best version of myself, with compassion and purpose.
