Listening Inward

There’s that quiet nudge many of us know well. The one that whispers, try this, say yes, or step forward. It rarely arrives loudly. More often, it shows up softly, mixed with excitement, nerves, and questions. The real work isn’t answering it immediately. It’s listening.

Do you listen to that nudge or do you brush it off to stay comfortable? Jumping in or staying back are both suitable decisions. What matters is that the choice comes from an honest check in with yourself. Sometimes the should I do this comes from excitement that feels a little scary. Other times, there is more fear than interest. Listening helps you tell the difference.

Your body holds wisdom. Your inner voice carries lived experience. And yes, experts can offer guidance worth considering. But none of that replaces checking in with yourself. Leaving your comfort zone allows growth when the pull comes from curiosity and excitement more than fear. Fear isn’t a bad thing. It’s an emotional tool. Sometimes it keeps you safe. Other times, it keeps you from moving forward when it is actually okay to do so. Feel into it. Listen to it.

Moving forward, I invite you to listen by:

Slowing the moment.

Giving yourself permission to pause instead of rushing to an answer allows clarity to surface.

Checking your body first.

Start by noticing your body. For some people, that means physical sensations like tightness or ease. For others, including me at times, it shows up more as emotional cues, excitement, anxiety, calm, or fear. However, it speaks to you; let your body’s response be part of the information you listen to.

Separating fear from curiosity.

Ask yourself whether the hesitation feels protective or simply uncomfortable because it is new.

Trusting your pace.

Listening doesn’t require immediate action. It asks only for awareness moment by moment.

This kind of listening sits at the heart of positive mindset work. It supports us during celebrations, steadies us during struggles, and offers gentleness during times of sorrow. My coaching helps people tune in to themselves with more awareness and less judgment so they can move through life feeling more grounded and aligned. I’m here when you are ready.
