Last week, I wrote about new beginnings as we headed into a new month and what they can mean. Late that night, after I had scheduled the blog to be sent, I realized I was a week ahead. It isn’t until tomorrow that the new month actually begins.
For a moment, I considered getting up, delaying the message for a week, and quickly writing something else to replace it. Then another thought came to me.
Maybe this message is ahead for some and behind for others. Maybe someone needed that reminder today, regardless of what the calendar said.
So I left it exactly as it was.
How often do we question ourselves because we think we’re too early or too late? I know I have. We wonder if we spoke up too soon, waited too long, started too late, or missed our opportunity altogether.
When those thoughts creep in, I gently remind myself that this is the right time for right now. If something needs to be revisited, clarified, or adjusted later, I can do that. Most things in life aren’t written in permanent ink. They become part of the journey that helps us keep moving forward.
Moving forward, I invite you to:
Meet yourself where you are today.
Life isn’t a race with one finish line. Your path is unfolding at its own pace, and today’s step is enough.
Stop waiting for the right moment.
The right moment rarely announces itself. Many beautiful opportunities begin with simply deciding to take the next step.
Permit yourself to adjust.
Changing your mind, refining your plans, or trying a different approach isn’t failure. It’s growth. Few things require you to get everything exactly right the first time.
Measure progress with kindness.
Instead of asking if you’re ahead or behind, ask yourself, “Am I learning? Am I growing? Am I moving in the direction that matters to me?” Those answers tell a much richer story.
Whether you feel ahead, behind, or somewhere in between, today offers another opportunity to choose your next step. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin. If you’re looking for someone to help you build confidence, gain clarity, and create a life that feels more like your own, I’d be honored to walk alongside you. Sometimes all we need is someone who reminds us that we’re not behind at all. We’re simply becoming.

I welcome my next step.
