Have you ever noticed how your car seems to tell you when it needs a tune-up? My car alerts me at different mileage points to schedule a maintenance appointment. It’s a suggestion, not a requirement. You can continue to drive your car without scheduling it, but following the prompts can help it run smoother and last longer. Oftentimes, skipping maintenance leads to bigger issues down the road.
The same goes for you. Life brings both joy and challenges, and ignoring uncomfortable feelings doesn’t make them disappear. Whether you find yourself in celebration, struggle, or sorrow, taking small moments to check in with your thoughts and feelings can help you move through each moment with more clarity, calm, and energy.
Moving forward, I encourage you to maintain your self-care by:
Checking in with yourself.
Taking note of how you feel throughout the day and what you might need in that moment. You don’t need a separate plan, just a little awareness.
Practicing gratitude.
Recognizing even small things you appreciate, which can shift your perspective and lift your energy.
Pausing and breathing.
Taking a few deep breaths before responding to a situation or moving on to the next task to reset your mind. Pausing before reacting is a tool I use often.
Refocusing your thoughts.
Turning your attention to what is working or what supports you when worry or negativity shows up.
Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish. It’s a way to help your energy and mindset feel more aligned and balanced.
If you’re ready to explore a maintenance plan for yourself, you can schedule a discovery session with me. Together we’ll get started identifying practical steps to feel more supported and in balance.
