This past weekend, I went to see the cherry blossoms in Jackson Park. I’ve lived in Chicago for over 25 years, and somehow this was my first time making it there during bloom season. I had been checking the forecast and the bloom updates for days, trying to predict the “perfect” moment. Saturday felt like the day, and it was. The trees were in full, breathtaking bloom, and the experience was even more magical than I expected.
And still, there was uncertainty right up until I arrived. Cherry blossoms are fleeting. A day too early and you miss the peak. A day too late, and the petals have already fallen. Add in wind or rain, and nature can shift the entire experience in an instant. Standing under those trees, I was reminded how much this mirrors the way we move toward our own dreams, carefully watching, planning, hoping, and still having to surrender to timing we can’t fully control.
Moving forward, I invite you navigate the timing of your dreams by:
Working with what you have prepared
You can research, plan, and gather information, while recognizing that certainty often stays out of reach. Let your preparation support your next step without needing to define the outcome.
Taking the step even when conditions are not perfect
If I had waited for the absolutely perfect bloom forecast, I might have missed the beauty altogether. Dreams often require movement before everything feels fully aligned.
Accepting that timing is not fully controllable
Weather shifts. Circumstances change. People and opportunities move. Part of creating a meaningful life is learning to move with timing rather than trying to control it.
Staying open to beauty in all versions of the outcome
Even if I had arrived too early or too late, there would still have been something to receive. A moment, a lesson, or a reason to return. Your path holds value at every stage.
As you move forward, remember that timing is not something to perfect or control but something to move with as life unfolds. You can take your next steps, stay present with what is here, and allow yourself to adjust as things shift. If you find yourself in a season where things feel a little unclear, or you simply want more support as you navigate what is next, schedule a discovery call and let’s explore together.
